Another Quick and Easy Stampin’ Up! Template

The Stampin’ Up! Templates are challenging, rewarding and lots of fun to try. Sometimes they are rather easy and other times somewhat frustrating but I enjoy trying something new. I like the challenge of trying to figure out what size each piece of paper should be; I use computer paper for this so I don’t waste my good card stock.

I have 3 alternatives to this template but each piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) is cut exactly the same. I started with a piece of DSP measuring 3″ x 4-1/2″, cutting down the middle at 1-1/2″. I then cut off 1-1/2″ off each strip. The only thing that changes was the size of the panel I put these pieces of DSP on.

Card #1, no border between DSP pieces
Card #2, a 1/4 inch border around each piece of DSP
Card #3, with a 1/8″ border around each piece of DSP

I like the card with the 1/8″ border, I think it looks cleaner and more elegant. I’m also a big fan of using a coordinating color as opposed to Basic White for the background. Which one do you like best?

Measurements:

  • 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ – card base
  • 3-1/4″ x 4-3/4″ – background panel for cards 1 & 3
  • 3-1/2″ x 5″ – background panel for card 2
  • 1/2″ x 3-1/2″ – Basic White for greeting
  • 4″ x 5-1/4″ – Basic White for inside card
  • 3″ x 4-1/2″ – DSP
Product List

This card uses minimal supplies and comes together really quick. Any greeting would work; happy birthday, thinking of you, sympathy, hello, etc.

So far, this has been one of the easiest templates to use. Stampin’ Up! has placed these templates on page 22 of their annual catalog to help you with your creativity. I hope you’re enjoying this series on using these templates. This marks the half way point!
