What a fun template to work with! All 3 cards are made the same way but differ by the colors and Designer Series Paper used. I have used the Dear Santa stamp set from the September – December Mini Catalog. Doesn’t she have a determined look on her face?Which card is your favorite?

Each card starts with a card base that measures 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored down the middle at 4-1/4″. The first card uses Basic White for the card base but the front is covered with the Take a Bow Designer Series Paper. Cards 2 & 3 have a matching panel that has been run through the Die Cut & Emboss machine with the new Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder which has quickly become my favorite embossing folder.
I used different papers from the Take a Bow DSP to create the banner for each card and for the background behind the stamped image. I just love how all of Stampin’ Up!‘s products color coordinate together. On card #1, the stamped image measured 1-7/8″ x 2-3/8″ but on the next 2 cards it measures 2″ x 2-3/4″. I liked a bit more background around the stamped and colored image.
The little girl writing her letter to Santa was colored with Stampin’ Blends. No blending as the image was too small. I used Pecan Pie light for her hair, Real Red dark for her pants and her bow, Granny Apple Green light for her shirt, Crumb Cake dark for her shoes and the MLL skin tones for her hands and face.

For the inside of each card, I used a 1/2″ strip of the DSP that was used on the front at the bottom. I used the Dear Santa stamp from the same stamp set, “Dear Santa”.

- Stamp the image and color (see above for colors used)
- Adhere to the 2-1/4″ x 3″ piece of DSP
- Create a swirl of the Bakers Twine and lay on top of the banner
- Adhere the stamped and colored image over the Bakers Twine using Dimensionals
- Stamp the greeting on the inside of the 4″ x 5-1/4″ Basic White card stock

- Color 3 of the Rhinestones Basic Jewels with the brush end of the Real Red Stampin’ Blends, let dry for a moment and then add to the front of your card
I am thoroughly enjoying creating these cards using the templates on page 22 of Stampin’ Up!’s annual catalog. I hope you’re enjoying my creations as well and that you will give them a try. If you have any questions about these cards or any others, please let me know!
I’d love to know which card is your favorite; 1, 2, or 3. Leave a comment below with your choice!
