This was another project from Santa’s Workshop class. It’s a Matchbook Treat Holder, holding a regular size Ghirardelli chocolate square. I have modified the original measurements to better fit the chocolate square. Using the products from Stampin’ Up! which all coordinate together, these are super easy and quick to put together but make a great stocking stuffer!
Get your supplies together and I’ll walk you through this; you’ll be done in no time!
Measurements:
- 3″ x 6-1/4″ Real Red card stock
- 1-1/2″ x 1-1/2″ Basic White card stock
- 2″ x 2″ Granny Apple Green card stock
- 2″ x 2″ Garden Green card stock
- 5/8″ x 2-7/8″ Designer Series Paper (I used Take a Bow)
- 2-1/4″ x 2-7/8″ Designer Series Paper
- scrap of Real Red Festive Glimmer Paper
Instructions:
- Score the 3″ x 6-1/4″ Real Red card stock along the long side @ 3/4″, 3-1/2″, and 3-7/8″
- Fold and burnish score lines
- Add both pieces of DSP (Designer Series Paper) to the front of the Matchbook
- Add a strip of Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the 3/4″ score line, use mini clothes pins to hold together while the glue dries
- Die cut 2 pieces of Holly and the berries from the Reindeer Fun dies
- Die cut a circle of Basic White card stock from the Stylish Shapes Dies, I used the 2nd smallest circle die
- Stamp the greeting onto the Basic White circle with Real Red ink
- Adhere one of the holly leaves over the top of the other
- Adhere the berries to the top of the holly leaves
- Using Dimensionals, adhere both the greeting and the holly to the front of the Matchbook
- Place 2 Mini Glue Dots to the back of a Ghirardelli square and adhere to the inside just above the bottom flap
- Remove the clothes pins and tuck in the top
If you don’t have mini clothes pins, you can set a larger block over the top and allow it to dry this way.
Super quick and easy using minimal supplies but makes a great gift for your hair stylist, the mailman, a neighbor kid, etc. Also makes a great addition to anyone’s stocking.
Product ListI hope you’ll try this 3D Matchbook treat holder. It’s quick, it’s easy and you can make several in a very short amount of time. Decorate as you wish. I wanted a quick greeting and the holly and berries fit perfectly. I’d love to see how you would decorate this. Leave me a comment along with a picture of what you have created!
