This is template #17 from the Stampin’ Up! annual catalog. All templates are found on page 22. Each week I am giving you several ideas on how to use each template as well as measurements and instructions to complete each one. I love the simplicity of this template.
I chose to only use the Designer Series Paper, (DSP for short) “Mediterrean Blooms” for each of today’s cards. I absolutely love this paper but wasn’t crazy about the stamps and dies. So, I had to find ways to use this paper and this template is perfect! I did not use any dies for these cards, I chose to fussy cut what appears on cards 2 and 3.

The first card is simple and quick. I had 1/4″ strips of Night of Navy card stock left over. Instead of throwing the scraps away, I put it around the outside edges of the Basic White card stock that had the greeting and trimmed as necessary. Isn’t it fabulous how all the papers coordinate so beautifully?

The use of these 2 colors, Garden Green and Daffodil Delight completely take me out of my comfort zone. Definitely not my favorite colors to combine but they did make for a beautiful card. The sentiments in all 3 cards come from the Thoughtful Expressions stamp set.

I turned card #3 so it would open from the bottom instead of the side. After adhering the DSP (which I shortened) to the front panel, I embossed it with the Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder. I love the added texture on this card. Again, the images are “fussy cut” and not die cut. These images came from the edges of the paper, can’t waste those great images! If you got this bundle, you could easily die cut these images.

The inside of the card is just as fabulous as the front of the card. I stamped the greeting in Night of Navy ink and used the edges from the DSP to complete the inside. I still have plenty of room to write my thoughts.

Instructions:
- Adhere the center piece of DSP to the card stock
- Adhere the other 2 pieces of DSP to the card stock
- Stamp your greeting using Night of Navy ink
- Adhere the 1/4″ pieces of Night of Navy card stock around the edges of the greeting, trim as needed
- Using Dimensionals, adhere the greeting to the front of the card base
- For card #3, run the panel of Daffodil Delight with the 3 strips of DSP through the Die Cut & Embossing Machine using the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder; you will want to do this before adhering greeting panel
- For cards 2 & 3, I “fussy cut” around the edges of the DSP
- Adhere selected images onto the edges of the greeting panel
- Adhere this panel to the 2-3/4″ x 3-1/2″ panel of colored card stock
- Adhere the greeting to the card base using Dimensionals or Foam Strips
- Stamp a greeting on the inside of the card and adhere to the card base
- Add embellishments to the front as desired
Super quick and easy card but lots of WOW! Love this template! I do hope you’ll give it a try and let me know how your card(s) turn out! Great way to use your scraps of DSP as well.
